Annotation

The release announced a five-year sequence of minimum CSIL hourly rates: $29.80 on 1 January 2016, retroactive to 1 April 2015; $29.94 on 1 April 2016; $30.39 on 1 April 2017; $30.85 on 1 April 2018; and $31.16 on 1 February 2019.

It also reported 976 people receiving home support through CSIL. The release said they represented approximately two per cent of all home-support clients and approximately 23 per cent of total home-care support service hours.

The release attributes statements about attracting and retaining support staff and wage parity to the minister and a CSIL Funding Working Group co-chair. This archive records those as attributed statements, not as independent findings about the adequacy of the announced rates.
