Token	Meaning
`primary`	Contemporaneous document, record, or other first-hand artefact from the period under study
`near-primary`	Close to the events or created from them (for example a commissioned review that quotes files the archive does not have)
`secondary`	Later narrative, journalism, or scholarship that is not itself the event record
`oral-history`	Recorded or transcribed recollection, published only with permission
`reference-finding-aid`	Catalogue record, bibliography, archival description, or this site’s own template/finding aid

`full-text-public`	A copy this project may point to (or host) as publicly readable
`external-link-only`	Full text exists at a stable external URL; we do not host the file
`catalogue-or-citation-only`	We have a citation or catalogue entry, not the text
`known-to-exist-copy-sought`	The item is attested; this archive does not have a copy
`physical-copy-known`	A physical location is known; no digital copy is held here
`permission-required`	A copy exists but may not be published or quoted beyond fair identification without permission
